Personal stuff
I was born in Nova Scotia, Canada where I spent my early and teenage years. At eighteen, I moved to Montreal, Quebec, where I completed a Bachelor of Music (Piano Performance) (McGill University) in 1996. During the second year of my studies, at nineteen, I became a Christian. After I graduated, I gave up my career as a professional musician, in response to a conviction that the Lord Jesus was asking me to leave my career to follow Him. I served in different areas at my local church in the Montreal for some twenty years (especially as a worship team member and in teaching and preaching). I completed a Bachelor of Education in 2006. Since 2018, I have lived in New Brunswick, Canada, where I serve at a local church (within the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada). I am now in my 40s. I am completing a Graduate Diploma in Christian Studies at Tyndale Seminary, with the intention of completing further studies, God willing. To earn a living, I’ve worked in different jobs throughout the years (retail, teaching, government). I never married (not intentional). My overarching desire is to know God and do His will, ministering to Him first, and serving His church and those around me in whatever the Lord calls me to do.
That’s a very brief summary of life stuff. In later posts I will write about some of the major turning points in my life, which will fill in some of the details and give you more background about where I’m coming from.
Topics I will be writing about
Posts in this blog will generally fall under the following areas:
- Reflections on theology
- Reflections on worship, especially worship music
- Biblical studies
- Studies in the history of worship music
- Personal reflections and updates
I will also be posting links to recordings of worship music that are found on my YouTube channel. Most are excerpts of spontaneous worship sessions. There may be some original worship songs, but I’m not much of a song writer (I’m much more comfortable doing spontaneous worship). I’ll also be doing renditions of some of my favorite hymns.
Who this is for
- Those who are interested in Christian theology and biblical studies from an evangelical, continuationist, charismatic-Pentecostal perspective
- Worship leaders, worship team members, or anyone else who’s interested in worship music
